worse washer ever Do not Buy

We purchased this washer 3 years ago. I do not usually by the extended warranty but thank goodness I did on this. We had our first repair 10 months after purchase. Since then we have had 12 other repairs. There have been three water pumps, three mother boards, two sets of struts, two locking mechanism replacements, a couple of loose bolts that stopped the washer from running on more than one occasion. All of this in less than two years time. The extended warranty claimed that they would replace the washer if there were more than three repairs. Then they said more than three of the same thing. They refused to ever replace the washer. Finally we went back to the place of purchase and they contacted Maytag and they agreed to replace the washer at a reduced cost of about $300 to us. Seems kind of ridiculous considering the statement on the extended warranty did not mention anything about prorating a washer. Maytag is a joke. when the new one goes out of warranty and breaks we will be looking for a new brand. I will not purchase another Maytag brand appliance ever again.

Great machine

Faster, cleaner than my previous front loader. Larger capacity than my old washer ('old' defined as a 2006 LG).I have nothing but good things to say about this the Maytag 850.

I bought this washer 4 years ago after my old one crapped out and I haven't looked back. We haven't had to repair anything on it and its excellent at getting my clothes clean. My favorite feature on this washer is the no spin cycle. I use cloth diapers and the trouble with most HE washers is that they don't put in enough water to get the diapers cleaner. However, because I can turn off the spin cycle, I can make sure my diapers get saturated enough to get clean. The only thing I don't like about this washer is how long it takes to wash because of the HE factor. My average wash cycle is easily close to an hour vs. my old washer.All in all - a great buy.p.s. be sure to check out the Sears Outlet. I saved about $300 on the list price buying it from there because the matching dryer wasn't available for sale.
