Average performance

It is a bit loud! Adequate cooling. Not emptying a bucket of condensate is nice though! Could give another 1/2 star.

not a good purchase

The unit arrived on time. No problems there. However it does not perform to its blurb. First let me say we live in an RV so that may have a bearing on our experience. First not all the items listed were not in the package but the missing items were listed as foams, with an illustration of what looks like two pieces of wood, but as this was not mentioned in the instructions we decided not to pursue it. Then, disturbingly, the exhaust pipe kept falling off, venting hot air into the room. We had to duct tape it into place. Now although it works ok (mostly) in the morning and early afternoon, when the day starts getting really hot, around 105 degrees, it shudders and shuts off. It also, mysteriously, shuts off our tv. It does come back on straight away. I called customer service. Here are the results: the tv shuts off because it is on the same circuit (not so); they can't do anything about the exhaust hose falling off (although I pointed out it appeared to be a design flaw and I was reporting it to them); they don't know why it is shutting down, but the company owner says it won't work when the temperature is over 104 degrees! Hah, so that's the problem - its too hot for an ac to work. Oh dear. DONT BUY THIS UNIT IF IT IS HOT WHERE YOU LIVE. I would return it but we have to drive an hour to do so. Even morning cooling is better than none.

Cold but loud

You get what you pay for. This cools the room nicely but is noisier than an old box fan. Personally I like it. But I won't be running it in my bedroom at night.
