Product Description
Keep your food cold while traveling with this deluxe and spacious EdgeStar FP630 Portable Refrigerator Freezer. This powerful unit packs the strength and insulation of a home freezer into a compact and rugged appliance. While only slightly larger in dimension than our 43 Qt. model this workhorse has much more capacity. For ultimate portability, this unit runs off standard household voltage, or easily connects to the cigarette lighter outlet in your car. Forget about thermoelectric portable coolers - this portable refrigerator freezer features a full range digital thermostat that is adjustable from -8ºF to 50ºF and it will hold a stable temperature under most conditions. Plus, the insulated metal walls will keep your food cold for hours, even without electricity! If you're in a hurry to freeze something, press the "Fast Freeze" button to rapidly cool the unit to -8ºF and maintain this freezing temperature. With side-grip comfort handles for easy transport, and two removable wire baskets for efficient storage, this unit is great for boaters, campers, hunters, medical transportation/storage, recreational vehicles, cabins and all your outdoor applications. The FP630 may be powered via AC (1A) or DC (5.5A/2.75A) power and comes with cables for both applications. You may plug the unit into both power sources at once and the unit will switch between the two automatically with the AC power being the dominant source. (DC voltage will power the unit if the AC power source is discontinued or drops below a particular threshold) Dimensions: 20 11/16" H x 28 1/8" W x 17 7/8" D

DC cable does NOT WORK
By Adam Kufeld
My husband and I took our new Portable Fridge from EdgeStar for a test drive. There was a problem before we got out of the driveway. The DC power plug Wouldn't stay in the DC outlet in our Toyota Sieana Minivan. If I held it in, the fridge would go on, let go and in went off.I called the Customer Service number at CompactAppliance where we purchased it. He informed me the problem was with my CAR, not the plug! When I told him all other DC plugs have worked (Cell charger etc.) he still insisted there is no problem with the DC plug or cord. I asked for a new cord but he said that it was a $45.00 cord and no way would they send that to me for free. He was rude and condescending. I asked to speak to a supervisor or tech support. He refused and said we could just return the unit. I ended up hanging up on him in anger and frustration. I spliced the cord myself and it works. I like the unit but would NOT recommend buying it from CompactAppliance, if you can help it, because THEY won't help YOU!

Portable Freezer 64 qts
By Edward Kern
It wore out after a year and the warranty. Kept food frozen but I hoped for a long life given the expense. Portable edgestar freezer. would not even give it a two stars.

EdgeStar FP630 Freezer/Refrigerator
By David L
I've owned this FP630 unit for three months and have only one issue with it. I like the refrigerator/freezer itself very much, and it has worked well on AC current. However, the 12v connection cable is defective.I ordered the longer 12v cable and it was defective also. In order to use DC current as your power supply you need to cut off the male plug (that plugs into your 12v power source) and replace it with a 10A, 12v DC plug you can find at Radio Shack for $5.99.It's a PITA but you have no option per my call to the EdgeStar Factory representative. The problem with the 12v cables is that the male plug on the cable is defective in that its retention springs, that hold the plug into the wall or vehicle socket, are too weak the it will very easily move out of the socket enough to break the connection with the wall power source. And, in a motorhome or vehicle, you have constant vibration which adds to the problem of your connection being unreliable. If you like the unit just purchase a new male plug, as the EdgeStar factory representative will advise you to do, and replace the male plug that comes on the power cable from EdgeStar. EdgeStar will give you the part number of the plug needed and I can vouch for the fact that this procedure will work.I changed out both of my 12v power cables, the shorter one and the longer one, and they both work fine with the new replacement male plugs.
