Best pillow for my whiplashed neck
By Diane D. Eardley
So far, this has been the BEST pillow for my old whiplashed neck. If you are a side-sleeper and suffer from an old neck injury, this pillow might be your answer to sleeping without pain. It is firm memory foam. It is so comfortable and supports my whole head during the night. It takes the pressure off of my first 2 vertebrae where my pain used to be the worst. I used to wake up 3 to 4 times a night with all the other pillows I try. For the first time in 2 decades, I can sleep the whole night through with this pillow without waking up. I hope they never stop making these.

Helpful for TMJ, cervical neck pain, & shoulder pain
By Alt-Country Aficionado
I suffer from severe chronic pain from TMJ, as well as myofascial pain in my cervical neck area and shoulders/arms. I have gone through MANY pillows in an effort to find some relief. I had found other orthopedic pillows to feel kind of overwhelming (too firm, too much neck suppport, etc) - and others kind of underwhelming (too soft, not enough neck support, etc). After years of failed pillow trials, I had been "settling" for a soft memory foam pillow with a "dimple" sewn into the middle to create a little nest for my head and some gentle support under my neck. I was getting some relief, but not enough. So I decided to give the EnVy pillow a try (what did I have to lose with a 30-day money back policy from the EnVy company?, is how I justified the cost to myself at the time!), feeling skeptical but desperate. I'm happy to report that I have been pleasantly surprised by this pillow! It's similar in concept to my old standby "dimple" pillow, but much better. I find that it is instantly comfortable to lie down on, and I also find that I sleep much longer on my back than I normally am able to do - which is very helpful to keep pressure off of my jaw and to avoid compressing my shoulder joints when sleeping. The shape of the pillow is kind of genius: The V indentation in the middle along with the raised cervical support creates the best "head nest" I've ever experienced with a pillow. The only negative so far is that summer heat makes the memory foam turn very soft, and so, if you're a "hot sleeper", the support can end up being compromised a little (but it doesn't go totally flat like some cheap memory foams tend to do). I've seen other online reviews complaining that this pillow is too hard. My guess is that those reviews were written in winter, or in seriously cold A/C environments that caused the memory foam to really firm up, as this is one of the softest, most plush-feeling memory foam pillows I have encountered so far, having been using it in warm weather.
