By Buyer Dave
This trim kit is good manufacture quality and looks good when installed. But beware...if the cabinet holding your microwave is not precisely the size indicated for installation you will not be able to install the kit as specified. This is because the hangers for the trim frame plug into receptacles that must be installed in precise locations at each corner of the cabinet hole. If the hole is the wrong size you can't attach the recepticles in their proper location and the frame won't hang as designed. I had to chuck the hangers and design my own hanging method using wood blocks and drilling small holes into the frame edges. Further, the frame comes with a sheet metal baffle that is intended to be fixed to the microwave side vents and direct exhaust forward (from side to the front) - so moisture won't build up in the cabinet. This adds to the microwave's dimensions and presents another problem if the cabinet dimensions are smaller than specified in the trim kit directions. Worst yet, the sheet metal baffle is supposed to attach to the microwave using one of the appliance's rear screws, per the directions. But these screws are tamper-proof, requiring a specialized torx driver to remove or tighten. I had to eliminate the baffle as I could not attach it. Needless to say whoever designed this trim kit ought to go back to engineering school for remedial training. The design is awful!

By Robert T. Lowell
If you are installing a Panasonic Prestige Conv-Microwave in a cabiet you MUST use this kit. It's NOT just trim but a whole mouning kit with brackets, ducts and deflectors. Without this kit the oven can over-heat when used in a cabinet.

By Robert E. Juch
I'm very happy with the Panasonic oven that this trim goes around but the trim kit was inferior. The vent had to be bent from flat into the proper shape and in doing so I cut my index finger badly. Then the vent attached with rather wimpy tape; there's just one screw point and that had the Phillips hole in the head stripped. I used my own duct tape to tape the duct into place. The duct is rather small compared to the one on the oven I replaced and I have a feeling it's restricting the airflow too much.It attaches to the cabinet with four clips. Those have quite a bit of play in them to allow for imprecise placement but as a result it doesn't hold well; it moves when touched and doesn't fit tight to the cabinet. It would have been much better if screw holes had been used instead. There's also too big of a gap around the oven; about half an inch on each side.
