By A. Malske
I had Electrolux EL6989A Oxygen Ultra for five and a half years and I liked it; however the quality of the wand wasn't as good so it was time to replace it (even tho I could just replace the wand since vacuum still working). So I got Dyson DC33 and after 2 days of use it went back to the store - it's a complete failure if you used to canister :)After that I decided to pull the trigger on Electrolux UltraActive. I couldn't find any reviews on it; I was only able to find specs and based on that it has more power 2100W vs 1400w in my old one, and also new design for the wand and motorized brush head.So I placed an order on kohls.com and after I got it I was pretty surprised how good it is with a few quirks :)Pros:- It's much quieter than my old Electrolux vacuum- New updated design of the wand and brush head seems more durable- It doesn't use bags (it's bagless vacuum)- It is way more powerful than the old oneQuirks:- After you push the power button - it takes a second or so for it to turn on - at first I kept pressing power and thought it was broken, but it is just the way it works. Press it once and it will start. I had to get used to it, but it's not a big deal.- Because it is so powerful, when I set it to the Max power the cover of the hepa filter kept popping up first couple of times, but after that I figured how to lock it in place so now it's fine.I haven't find any cons and I like it very much. It is very compact, nice looking vacuum with good maneuverability and power. Everything you need from the vacuum cleaner.

By jandayan
I just purchased this vacuum after much research to replace my 13 year old vacuum that finally bit the dust. Overall I am very satisfied with it's performance. Since I was very used to my previous vacuum, albeit very old, I used this new vacuum with an eye of scrutiny.Pros:Love that it is bag-less and you can see exactly what and how much it picks up. Feels very sturdy though not overly heavy. I have both hard floors and carpet. Love the large hard floor attachment, I can cover the floor much faster and despite its size is still very maneuverable in tight spots. The carpet brush picks up excellent yet thin enough to get under beds and most furniture and still very maneuverable. Canister is very easy to dump out contents.Cons:The cord could have been a little longer compared to my old vacuum. I have to use a couple different outlets in order to reach all the surface areas. While I do love the size of the hard floor attachment, the suction is not as great and I will have to go over stuff it won't pick up the first time several times for it to pick up. I've noticed the crevice tool stored in the handle tends to fall out while I am vacuuming. My biggest beef is with storing it. To wrap up the hose and hold it together with the attached bungee cord is a joke. My previous vacuum stored all its attachments on the canister for easy access when vacuuming and storage. Not so with this one. There is no place to store the hard floor attachment or the furniture nozzle attachment. The bungee cord does not hold any of it down. After taking several minutes trying to wrap it all together, I picked it up and it all came undone. So despite Electrolux's recommended storage solution, I end up just leaving the hose attached to the wand and the carpet brush. Then just putting the other 2 attachments on the floor next to it in the closet. Not crazy about this but for it's overall excellent performance I can live with it.2 Months Later update:Now that the excited newness of the vacuum has worn off, I am pretty frustrated with the lack of suction with the hard floor attachment. Please note that I empty the canister after each use. My kids tracked in a bunch of tiny pebbles and small bits of dried mud that the vacuum won't pick up unless I detach the whole telescoping wand and suck them up individually with the handle itself. All the hard floor attachment does it push around anything that is heavier than dust bunnies. I also am having a problem with the attachments that are stored in the handle constantly falling out while I am vacuuming. I am seriously considering returning this because my entire downstairs is hard floor and this vacuum only works great on carpet. I love it's performance cleaning the carpet.

We wanted to replace our 10 year old upright. I did a lot of research and am very glad I picked this vacuum. We needed a compact vacuum that was good on hardwood floors, area rugs and wall to wall carpet. Also, a hepa filter for my allergic dog. This is a powerful vacuum, I could not believe the dirt we got up that our old vacuum was missing. You can turn off the beater bar on the handle when going from carpet to hardwood or to save the fringe on rugs. It also has a nice big floor brush for hardwood and tile. If you suck up a shoelace or cord it shuts off immediatly to save your belt. The bagless dirt cup is very easy to empty. The length of the wand is adjustable for people of different heights. It's very light and easy to maneuver. It has slow start technology which is better for the motor, so it appears to hesitate when turned on. But, do not accidently pick up the vacuum by the dirt cup handle as it will fall with a crash. Another nice feature is the handle pivots flat to vacuum under beds and furniture. We've had this vacuum about six weeks and it's the best I've ever used.
