GREAT A/C UNIT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
By canderton
I use this in my bedroom. It gets really hot, especially in the summer, and I also have a lot of electronic equipment(av receiver, Xbox 360, PS3, LCD tv, some halogen lamps, etc.) and to top that all off I am really hot natured. So I needed something to keep the room cool. This thing does it effortlessly. The temp. in my room used to climb up to 75ºF, now with the SoleusAir it stays at around 66-68ºF, just how I like it. On a side note, my central A/C went out last summer and it got up to 83ºF in my house, but the SoleusAir kept it at a cool 68ºF in my room. So you can count on it even under the most demanding loads. It also has a built-in heater as well and it heats as well as it cools. So this is really an all-in-one unit. The only downside(along with any other portable a/c unit) is that you must run 2 hoses(one exhaust, one intake) to a window. It comes with a window installation kit, but I live near a busy street so I can sometimes hear outside noise... but it's not too bad.But I would highly recommend this product.

Buy it. I love it.

This is my second one I have owned. I love it. I have it in our bed room. It let's me keep my bed room comfortable and I don't have to keep the rest of the house that cool or hot. One bad thing I had to remove the louvers out of the front. They didn't open far enough for the air to get out. I noticed this in other reviews, I will buy another if this one fails.

Don't trust it
By Casey
I purchased this in May 2010 and it worked fine until June 2011, when I noticed the carpet was drenched for about 5 ft all around it. The evaporative part wasn't working so the small internal tray had been overflowing. We took the unit appart cleaned it and made sure the float was not hung up reassembled it and put it in a washer pan, the evaporative part still wasn't working. I haven't taken it completely apart to attempt fixing it a 2nd time, we just pump out the water out of the washer pan every day or two. I would say in 80-100+ weather this unit has a hardtime getting the temp down to 74 and being able to maintain it especially with any electronic running in the room, a 10,000 BTU window unit would blow this a way 3x over. The heater also just works ok, this unit keeps my loft room from broiling me in the summer or freezing me in the winter, but I wouldn't exactly say it keeps me comfortable. Oh and it is loud in comparison to even the huge 8 year old window unit that cools the whole downstairs of the house.
