    1Do not buy this washer!
    By Doug in SW NJ
Bought this washer and the matching dryer in August 2012 and after it broke for the 3rd time in four months, we returned it to the store and replaced it with an LG WT5170. Liked the controls and the look of the Samsung WA456DRHDSU. Did a nice job cleaning the clothes, but what kept breaking was the housing for the drain pump. The Samsung washer is very particular about how it is loaded and was shaking itself apart during the spin cycle after rinsing. Sounded like a jet plane taking off. All HE washers shake a little during the spin due to the high RPM's, but the Samsung was too stupid to warn you or turn itself off if the load was unbalanced.Supposed to load heavier items first, draping them evenly around the bottom of the tub, but didn't matter how you loaded the Samsung because the tub rocks during the wash and rinse cycles to move the clothes around.Got the LG becuase it has a center small agitator that spins while the tub turns and the loads are self-balanced. If the load becomes so unbalanced that it becomes a problem, the washer will turn itself off and give you an error code to re-distribute the laundry.Didn't really want another HE top load washer after seeing how sensitive they are to loading, but had no real choice as the store we got it from only gave us a store credit and we had to pick out another brand that they carried. Front loaders were never an option due to the mold issues. If I had to do it all over again, we would have gotten a Speed Queen with a center agitator. They're a bit pricey at around $850, but you have full manual control over every setting and no electronics to break.Have to say though, the LG is light years better than the Samsung and we're pretty pleased with it so far.(02/26/13 FOLLOW-UP) Was in Best Buy getting a new dishwasher in January 2013 and saw that Samsung had come out with a new model washing machine that looks and acts similar to the LG washer that we upgraded to. Wasn't blasting Samsung per se, just alerting people to watch out for the WA456DRHDSU. Turns out that the LG that we got is still better than the Samsung we started with, but the LG is a lot harder on your clothes. We had to keep the Samsung gas dryer, but actually love it, even though the first one delivered was DOA.

    5Size Matters!
    By Merlyn
My husband and I just had this delivered today, and let me tell you - it is HUGE. I usually can get 2 loads of laundry done in my big storage tub that we use for a hamper... This washer took the whole thing and still had room for more! I can do less laundry cycles and I feel like I win the lottery when I press the buttons (musical - love!). The sales people told us it can do a very plush king size comforter with ease - and I believe it. It is very quiet - our laundry room is on the 2nd floor, and I can't even tell we own a washer. We are Samsung people!!

    5What a wonderful selection
    By beverly ritz
Fabulous! 2 baskets full and could have taken more on! To think I went for more than a month without a washer...it is sheer joy to be a little more sufficient laundry wise!
