PerfectAire dehumidifiers are Energy Star rated, have an automatic shut-off feature for when bucket is full, and operate down to 41 degrees. Adjustable thermostat and a continuous run mode to keep unit running non-stop when desired. Bucket has water gauge to show when full; or hook up adaptor to any standard hose for direct-drain option. The PA50 dehumidifies up to 2,000sq. ft. Washable slide-out air filter included. Refrigerant, R134A. 115 volts, 580 watts, and 5.6 amps.

None Better

Readers:I am something of a Dehumidifier collector -- not by choice but just the same. I have owned (All in the 40-60 pint capacity range) LG, Frigidaire, Freidrich, and now the PerfectAire PA50.The PerfectAire is -- the quietest- has the best warranty- has the best controls and read-out (shows actual humidity to closest 1%)- very efficient and effective.This little unit is the quietest of any I've owned. Trust me on this, I've spent hours listening to several brands and the others are louder (though, to be fair, the LG is similar in low noise but that brand breaks down often and soon -- see reviews). And the PerfectAire is not just a tiny bit quieter, it's a significant drop in volume. Keep in mind that all these units make some sounds. There's a compressor that has to run, and a fan for the air. Most units, the compressor makes the loudest sound, and that's where this dehumidifier really beats the competition.Also -- unlike most of the others, this unit shuts ALL THE WAY OFF when the desired humidity level is reached. And it doesn't usually (though sometimes it may) keep cycling back on and off every 30 seconds, but rather the fan runs for a minute to make sure the humidity is 'stable' once target is reached, then shuts off until significant increase in humidity happens.This is one SUPER little unit, and I wish I'd found it first, before all the other trials and tribulations.Happy Camper here.

My first dehumidifier was a GE bought in 1971 and it worked for 28 years.Today, dehumidifiers are built to last a month beyond the warranty. I have bought a GE, Delonghi, and Whirlpool -- all which died within 2 years -- all just beyond the warranty.I bought it at Ace Hardware for $200. The warranty is a 5/10 year which is INCREDIBLE compared to other brands -- which speaks to the quality and the conficence I have in the construction of the unit. My friend bought a cheaper brand saving $25 and got a one-year warranty. I couldn't wait to get online to review this product I was so impressed! It is available at ACE hardware for about $230. Mine came to about $244 with sales tax (MA). It is very easy to use, very quiet compared to other brands. In the "Normal" mode it shuts off completely when set humity level is reached and will automatically maintain that setting. I read reviews of other brands and there were complaints that the fan keeps runnig all the time. It comes with a 5 year warranty! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a very efficient, quiet, good looking, reliable unit!
