4Great quality juice!
By Yoga Nut
So, you must understand I am a bit of a juicing snob.Meaning I have juiced pretty much daily for years, and have researched every juicer on the market.I have owned three juicers in the past year, with this being one of them. Here's my take on the other two, and then more in depth on the Kuvings.Breville Juice Fountain: Nice easy juicer to use. Quick and easy, and allows for big pieces of fruit to be put down the chute, so less chopping. Clean-up is the easiest of the the three. Great intro juicer to get into the habit without a lot of work. Not so great on juicing veggies, and especially not great for greens like kale. Which is the main reason I decided to upgrade from the Breville because I juice greens daily. Perfect choice if you'll just be doing oranges, apples, etc. Not very versatile, but great at the basic fruits. It's a great all-round centrifugal juicer, and you can purchase for around $150-200.Angel 5500: Amazing juicer. My favorite by far. But, it comes at a hefty price tag of $900-1100. It is ALL stainless steel and built to last. It's unsurpassed juice quality, with very little waste/pulp. You will really make your money back in the end with more juice output and less pulp. It's fantastic for fruits and veggies, and does a tremendous job on greens, which is why I wanted it. The Angel is a masticating, dual-ager machine, which means it mashes and then juices the food. It works at low-temperature and slower speed than Breville so juice quality is higher and juice lasts longer before it oxidizes. I really can't say enough about this machine. I will admit clean-up takes about 2 minutes longer than with the Breville, but for me that's a trade-off I'm willing to take for better quality, more nutrients, and less waste.So... to the product at hand the Kruvings NJE-358OU.This is a great juicer for those who would like a masticating juicer with one auger. One thing I really liked about the juicer was the fact that it really "pulled" the food into the feed tube. Where as with my Angel I sometimes I have to push it in. The feed tube on the Kuvings is smaller than the three juicers I'm comparing, so you will have to spend some time cutting up the fruits and veggies in order for them to fit in the tube. The Kuvings is almost all made of plastic, which isn't a big deal, I just wonder about durability over years of use.The juice quality with the Kuvings is very high. Better than that of the Breville, but slightly less than the Angel. It's a great tasting "thick" juice, but no pulp in the juice.I juiced my daily recipe with all three juicers:2 apples5-6 stalks celeryfresh ginger (1-3 inches)1/2 peeled lemon5-8 kale leavesThe Breville produced the least amount of juice and most pulp. The Kuving produced the medium amount of juice and pulp, while the Angel produced the most juice by about 1 1/2 cups. As far as pulp, the Angel produced only about 1/3 of the pulp of the Breville, and about 1/2 the pulp of the Kuvings.Clean-up on the Kuvings was about the same as the Angel. In fact, it might have taken a tiny bit longer.I'd say Breville clean-up is 3 minutes, Angel is 5 minutes, and Kuvings is 6 minutes. The Kuving does also do fancy things like make baby food and pasta, which are options I won't ever use.I would say the Kuvings is worth looking into at this price point, as well as the Omega.HAPPY JUICING!!!

5Quiet and easy to use
By Mike Wallace
I juice frequently, but this is my first slow juicer. I have a Breville Juice Fountain Elite and another centrifugal juicer. I have to say that I was really impressed with this juicer. It was packed well, with a lot of cardboard cushioning. In spite of this, the pulp container was cracked. I called the customer service number on the instruction/recipe book and the representative said they would ship me a new one right away. So, Kuvings customer service gets an A+ for the prompt courteous service. The juicer itself is heavy and has a cool space age flip cover that flips to the back side when the juicer is in use and then can be flipped back when the juicer is not in use. This juicer was easy to disassemble and clean and put back together. The plastic parts just snap and screw into place, everything fit, and worked perfectly, and nothing had to be forced. My first juice was a kale, celery, lime, ginger, apple juice and it turned out perfectly.I love the health benefits of juicing, but when you insist on using organic produce the cost can add up, especially with a centrifugal juicer. With this slow juicer, I was able to get a lot more juice out of my produce, so I'll be able to juice more and spend less. I also really liked how quiet this machine was, and I was able to run stuff through fairly fast. The self feeding tube does kind of pull the produce down, so there wasn't a lot of forcing and effort to get things to run through it.Update: I purchased a flat of wheat grass and this juicer does an amazing job juicing it. The juice is very clear and the pulp is dry. One tip I discovered while making wheat grass juice is to run a mandarin or small orange through at the end to get all of the wheat grass juice pushed through. The mandarin also makes the wheat grass juice sweeter and more palatable. I also made mandarin/orange juice to drink after the wheat grass and it was a great combo.I also think this juicer is easier to clean than my Breville, just because the parts are smaller and I don't have water splashed all over the kitchen afterwards. So far this juicer is great and I will update after I try out the other attachments.

3Ok Budget Option
By John
I have owned juicers from the following compaines:- Champion, high speed - owned 2 years.- Green Power aka Tribest or Green Star - slow speed masticating - (owned 10 years).- Breville (owned 2 years), high speed, currently owned.- Kuvings Silent Juicer 850 Plus (new) - slow speed masticating - currently owned.- Kuvings Juice Juice Extractor (NJE-3580U) (new) - slow speed masticating - currently owned. In my opinion, they rank as follows.Build Quality: Breville the clear winner, mostly stainless steel, the actual metal. The others are similar, plastic. Though I can say my Green Power lasted 10 years and was going strong when given away. The Kuvings are middle of the road. Ok, yet do not feel like high quality materials.Looks: Once again, the Breville looks the best, like an expensive piece of kitchen kit. The others all look ok. Champion the worst, Green Power average, and with both Kuvings looking a little better. Plastic just looks cheap, even if it's stainless steel color dyed plastic.Ease of Use: Breville, by far. Its high speed mechanism could seemingly make quick work of concrete. Champion is second place. The slow speed juicers require a wrestling match. The Kuvings Silent Juicer 850 Plus has an innovative design, just not sure it's worth the high price.Clean Up: The Breville is maybe a little easier. For the most part, cleaning a juicer is a chore no matter which one you buy.Juice Quality/ Efficiency: Green Power/Star 1st, Kuvings Silent 2nd, Kuvings NJE-3580U 3rd, Breville 4th, followed by Champion. They all make decent juice, though masticating slow speed juicers do extract more and produce drier pulp. The marketing claims high speed juicers destroy nutrients. Is that true? Maybe. Who knows. If stranded on island and could have only one: For my time and money, Breville. It may not be extracting every last nutrient or drop, but as a 20 year veteran of juicing, I'm willing to trade a bit of juice quality for substantially greater ease of use. A smashing Breville costs substantially less than Green Power/Star or the Kuvings Silent Juice 850 Plus.If you prefer a slow speed masticating juicer and can afford the high price, I recommend Green Power/ Green Star line, based on my 10 years of owning one. If budget is an issue, the Kuvings are a decent alternative. In the end, what matters most, is you pick a juicer that will lead you to juice on a regular basis. If you do not mind the masticating wrestling match, then go for Green Power or Kuvings. For me, the lack of ease led me to juice less often. Breville removed that obstacle. The Kuvings Juice Extractor NJE-3580U does make pasta and grind grains and nuts. If your juicer budget is $230, I recommend you give this one a try. It's about as good as you'll get at that price point. With a larger budget, this model is an easy pass.
