Good product, hard to install

I've always had good experience with Everpure filter products, so when it came time to replace my cartridges, I didn't hesitate to order another set from Amazon.Bundle set issue resolved: it seems that Amazon has finally fixed the issue highlighted by other reviewers who received only one of the two H-1200 cartridges needed. When I received my package, it had both cartridges with a big red sticker marked "sold as a set".Removal: replacing the cartridges was a bit more difficult than expected (and that's why I gave the product 3 stars, the stars are not related to the quality of the filters). If you're like me and you waited a bit too long to replace these, you might notice a bit of calcification and oxidation around the top of the cartridges. As a result, I really had to put some muscle into unscrewing the cartridges (counter-clockwise).Caution - before removing the cartridges, make sure the water valve is shut off and you've drained the water, by opening the faucet. I noticed that by completely draining the water, the second cartridge was bit easier to remove.Replacement - once I successfully removed both cartridges, I made sure to properly clean the inner lining and remove any excess water. It took me a few trials to get it just right, but by the second cartridge, I realized what would make it a bit easier to install. The key is to use the palm of your hand and push the cartridge all the way up BEFORE turning it clock-wise to lock into place. Don't be afraid to put a bit of force behind this push.After the installation was done, I ran the water for a good 5 minutes (recommended time is 3 minutes, but I found this inadequate for removing air bubbles, etc.). Keep in mind that even after a couple of days of use, you may still see "bubbles" in your water cup until the carbon filters in the cartridges are nice and soaked.Recycling the cartridges: I wasn't sure what to do with the old cartridges and it didn't seem right to just throw it in the garbage. With a bit a research, I found that Everpure's website has some information on how to recycle these cartridges ([...]). Luckily for me, my neighborhood uses Waste Management for picking up recycling and they already have a deal with Everpure. All I had to do was just throw them in my recycling bin and Waste Management did the rest.Overall, I'm happy with these new cartridges and having fresh water for another year or so.

Very pricey

I purchased a home that already had this filter system installed. The old filters were a little tough to twist out and it was not clear how to use the "alarm" that needed to merely be stuck to the side of the canister for easy reminder next year. Other than that, the filters came well packaged, on time and easy to install thankfully only once yearly at this price!

Everpure H-1200 1-star review

Have seen reviews for some time now about problems with just 1 of the 2 Everpure filters in this set arriving on the doorstep. Seems like such an easy thing to correct, and yet sure enough, it happened to me this week. Paid for the set of 2 filters, and only received filter #1. Then had to deal with return dept, print lables, repackage the filter + drop at a UPS center. Amazon could not ship just filter #2 separately. They required that I receive an entirely new shipment and return the single filter. Hope this does not get censored, but seems fair to warn folks that this is still an ongoing problem.
