Disappointing trim for the Panasonic NN-SD982S 2.2 Cu Ft Microwave

Watch Video Here: /review/R2Z6G3WF5CJFN2 I'm very disappointed at the fit of this product around the microwave itself. I think Panasonic did a totally poor job engineering this rather simple product. And worse, they do a terrible job of assisting the match-up of trim-kits to the appropriate microwave. Their website makes it look like the match-up is correct. I purchased the trim kit to use with the correct microwave according to the website but the fit left a ½ inch gap on each side. I called the factory and got non-support from overseas? Don't rely on Panasonic's phone assistance! They are unknowledgeable and totally unhelpful! They told me the gap was normal. This is unacceptable.I would never have ordered this trim kit if they had said it would have a ½ gap.The Panasonic NN-SD 982S microwave is however perfect even if the trim kit is disappointing.Video Attached.

Beautiful trim for the Panasonic NN-SD997S 2.2 cuft Microwave

Great trim piece. Your cabinet opening must be exactly as specified or you will need to trim wood or tack in extra wood to get it exactly the opening so the trim will attach to the tabs correctly.Why so costly? This is not only the trim but a metal tray that centers the microwave in the opening and also a vent that attaches to the microwave and directs the steam from the side of the microwave to the front of the trim piece.It gives the microwave a real finished look.

Didn't fit

It didn't fit my space, so I returned it. However, build quality was good and it would have looked nice if the space would have worked.
