Best Vacuum I've Had

Even though this vacuum is a bit heavy (22 pounds, will give you a work out!), it is the best vacuum I've found for getting up pet hair. I used an Oreck and a Bissel and then vacuumed with the Miele. I was amazed at how much dog hair came up AFTER vacuuming with the others. The bag can be a little tricky to change (illustration wasn't the best) but once you figure out how it works, it's pretty simple. The HEPA filter on this eliminates the kick back dust you get from other vacuums. My allergies have improved a great deal since switching over. Plus I find it does a fabulous job on the hardwood floors!

I have 2 Dyson uprights which were purchased for their superior suction power. A few of us in the family have allergies so the vacuums get a good workout. I need a vacuum that is reliable and easy to use with superior cleaning. I've grown dissatisfied with the Dyson's for a number of reasons with the biggest frustration being poor ergonomics and repeated snapping of the plastic parts. After looking at several reviews I decided to get the Miele AutoEco. After just a few uses, I can say without question that this is the finest vacuum that I've ever used. Another reviewer provided a number of positive things about the vacuum, and I agree with all of them. The most surprising plus for me was the maneuverability of the machine and access to difficult places. I don't have any con's to offer. A comment was made about the weight of the unit, but it's lighter than my Dyson's and has a handle that makes lifting and moving easier. My other bagless vacs make disposal of dirt easy, but dust does reenter the air no matter how careful you are during dumping, and the filter needs to be washed every couple of months. Miele's bag design is cleaner and it seems as though they've thought through how to make bag changing easy. The only unknown is how the unit will hold up over time. I know this sounds crazy, but I actually enjoying vacuuming with my new Miele vacuum.

Love Miele, just one problem

I bought a first Miele, a Callisto canister, a few years ago. I love that vacuum cleaner! I bought the upright to use when I don't want to lug around the canister. It's fairly quiet, the attachments are excellent, but I've noticed one annoyance. When I finish vacuuming I notice all kinds of particles stuck to the back of the machine, down around the bottom. I just take the hose out and vacuum the back of it off before I put it away. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I do believe the cord is a lot longer than the one on my canister. I haven't checked the bag yet. The finger touch suction control is a fancy option. I'm glad I bought this vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend Miele to anyone that wants a truly sealed HEPA vacuum. Even if you're not an allergy sufferer like me, what's the use of vacuuming if you're just throwing dust back out in the air to land everywhere?
