5Excellent Air Conditioner
By J. Herbst
I used this unit to replace a ten year old Friedrich in-wall air conditioner, which incidentally never cooled as it should from its first day. The Friedrich's dimensions were much larger than this one, and the sleeve that was installed was its actual casing. Removing this sleeve and trying to put in a new smaller sleeve was not really an option because of the work involved in trying to fill the space in the wall (especially the exterior siding) caused by the difference in size. I needed to fill the space within the old sleeve so the new unit would fit snugly. This was a tough task, but I can't blame Frigidaire for that. They provided fill and instructions for nine or ten different brands of in-wall sleeves. Unfortunately, this particular sleeve was not a match to any of those described. I was very happy to find that there were plenty of different pieces of foam and other fill provided that could be cut to fit my area. The unique layout of the Friedrich sleeve/casing still required me to cut some small pieces of wood to properly block in the much smaller Frigidaire. In-wall air conditioners are a prickly species. Take your time and it will all work out - it's worth preserving your window views.Once the work was done and the trim applied, I turned it on and it filled the first floor with cold air. There is not much else to say except this air conditioner does what it is supposed to do very well. It cools the living room and dining room (approx 600 sq ft) with sunny south and west facing walls on a hot day. The timer operates in half hour intervals and functions as it should. The remote is well laid out and controls all relevant features - important because the air conditioner is installed high on the wall. The air filter slides in and out easily and can be cleaned without much fuss. The unit is attractive and efficient. I couldn't be happier.

3Bent fins
By SLO
I had a similar problem with bent fins and inferior packaging - which is important because the design of the unit requires full airflow to function as designed. I took time to re-bend the grill and fins, but this is an issue. Hopefully the second unit I bought for a backup (these are for an apartment building) doesn't have a similar problem.

4So far, so good..
By Longtime Cook
Air Conditioner has been been running almost 24/7 lately, on the energy saver mode. Along with a fan, for circulation, keeps my 650 sq. ft. apartment quite comfortable. The only complaint I have is lack of a thermostat, so it would run all the time on any other mode.
