So far so good
By Arakashi
We bought this ac for our open living room. We probably could have gone with the 12000 btu version but didn't want to be maxing out the unit all the time. Our room is only 23 x 13, but there is no door so no way to cool only this area (and the room also gets very bright sun all day). The unit is very quiet. We bought an 8000 kuhl series unit for the bedroom and frankly think this one might be quieter (and the 8000 was the same price as this one). We had it professionally installed since it is really a beast, and bought a heavy duty universal bracket for it and feel that it's in our double hung NYC window very securely.

Best 115 volt unit I have seen!
By Kenneth Everett Couch
I had a dedicated 115 volt receptacle and wanted a unit that could use it. I was surprised how quiet it is and how quick and efficiently it cools. I like the oscillating vanes. My smaller unit in my bedroom was rated high but is louder then this unit. I have already showed it off to some close friends. They are considering purchasing this unit.

Not as good as the old model.
By Sid V
I got this as a replacement for the CP15F10 that died on me after 2 years. Good news is the old unit was under a service contract. Bad news is that it could not be fixed and I needed to get a new one for free. How is that bad news? Well, first Friedrich changed the sleeve ever so slightly. So, I needed to pull the old sleeve out of the wall - major project - cant just slide the new one in. Next, the CP15G10 is now made in China; it gave off that smell of cheap Chinese plastic when installed. Although the smell went away pretty quickly, the plastic is still cheap Chinese plastic; HELLO Friedrich, some of us can discern cheap Chinese plastic. This unit is also a bit louder than the older unit (that I think was made in Mexico). Also, the louvers do not point up high enough, so you get blasted with cold air when you walk by. And lastly, while old and new units are rated at 10.7 EER, when comparing the yellow EPA stickers, the old model had a very, very slightly better operating cost. I'm splitting hairs here, but why should the efficiency be going in the wrong direction?I have a feeling this one will not last. I hear Frididaire's are pretty good - and much cheaper. Next time???
