Bad Customer Service

The one major drawback is customer service. It has a temp control and I like to keep my reds @ 54 degrees. It will not hold that temp. I called Akdy to find out how to set the the temp. A man answered with an Asian accent, so thick i could not understand him, and after 15 minutes I finally hung up in frustration. Never did get it set the way I wanted.I am going to call Amazon and ask for their help. The refer is very nice looking and will hold 32 regular sized bottles. but temp control is lacking.

Good Wine Cooler

This is a good wine cooler for my needs. It is very quiet and looks very nice. My initial impression is that some of my longer wine bottles may not be able to fit, but I was able to close the door without being blocked by those longer bottles. The cooler only goes down to 46 degrees, which may be a problem for a lot of white wine drinkers who prefer their wine as cold as possible.

After a lot of research i bought this unit. As a cooler for wine storage, it has worked well for over two years.My one piece of advice is that It's critical that you leave a good 2-4 inches of unobstructed space around the unit, because the thermo-electrics generate heat and it needs to exhaust.The most annoying thing about this cooler is the plastic smell inside the unit that comes and goes, but it's manageable.It does not have humidity control, so I put a tray of water inside it.It's best for slimmer bottles (riesling, muscadet), but can hold about 30 regular bottles.Over all, it's a pretty basic, thermo-electric unit, but it does the trick and is a great value.
