A portable that cools
By DrB77
Portables used to be used to cool sections of a central air system that that had 'hot spots.' SPT's 14,000 BTU portable cools 500 square feet of a beachfront Cape Cod cottage easily. The largest windows facing south open from side to side, like a sliding door, making a conventional window air conditioner unadaptable. The new SPT cools faster, is quieter, attractive and has a remarkable 'Swing" feature that directs cool air throughout the room. Don't worry about the numbers. Forget the 8,000, 12,000 BTU units. They are noisier, less attractive and take up more space.

Great little air conditioner!
By ShirlD
This unit may look small but it has big power. It did a great job of cooling our large family room. It's not the quietest thing but then none of them are.
