Product Description

Traditional deep fryers soak the foods you cook with grease that contains high amounts of saturated fats. This is why the Secura TurboFry Oven is so different. It uses only 1 tablespoons of cooking oil to prepare up to two pounds of French fries (weight of peeled and cut potatoes). Just how can this oven make this happen? The secret has to do with how it cooks. It uses a charged turbo fan that cooks the French fries with hot air as opposed to cooking oil that is greasy and fattening. The oven uses a food tumbler that will mix the fries and oil for best results. The cooking temperature is reached almost instantly by using an infrared heating element. These infrared waves cook the food inside out so that your food will be cooked thoroughly in the shortest possible time.

5Very pleased with this product!!!
By Glenview Cheryl
We ordered this a few weeks ago, so far we have tried potatoes fries, pizza, roasted chicken and we roasted some almonds as well. Everything came out excellent. This oven is indeed a multifunction appliance. It first is a convection oven similar to a Rotisserie oven, but with a turntable rack. So you are not limited to roasted chicken and ribs but can put smaller pieces on the turntable. The second function is to replace the turntable with a food tumbler or paddle, it then turns into an automatic stir fryer. We made some fries from fresh potato. Needless to say the fries are much less greasy with only one spoon of oil, but we are thrilled to see this actually works. It means this cooker can take the tedious labor work out of cooking. With everything we have cooked in this turbofry oven so far well done, we are very pleased with this product.Roasted chicken is second to none. The first chicken we cooked is perfect, golden crispy skin bottom and up, and juicy inside. Cut and squeeze the chicken breast with a knife yourself, you will see what I mean juicy. The second time we surround the chicken with lots of veggies carrots potatoes, seemed like the excessive veggies blocked the air flow to the bottom thus the underneath of the chicken was not crispy.Potato fries, We have not used similar products so there is no way to compare the results. But the paddle does mix the oil and fries well in a gentle way. The tumbler aid on the inner side of the glass bowl helps the mixing better. The tumbler aid could make some noise when we roast almonds, we then removed the tumbler aid and it just worked as good.Pizza, this oven is a perfect appliance to make pizza. Pizza finished with a crispy crust and the excessive moisture on the pizza top were carried away by strong hot air circulation. And we have never preheat the oven which is a plus. Using extender ring gives better results. Con: only bakes pizza up to 9" .Extender ring is very useful. Good thing is it comes free with the purchase. And again, it is one of the best kitchen appliances we ever invested. We have extensively used it for a few weeks, at least one use per day, multiple uses during weekends, so far there is not the slightest regret.

5Amazing Oven
By Collen II
Bought this a few weeks ago, so far everything we cooked in this oven turned out to be AMAZING!! Chicken is always cooked to perfection, the skin is crispy and inside is juicy, I am thinking of taking a picture to show you guys. There is a lot of oil drip to the bottom. You do not have to flip it half way during the cooking, the bottom of the chicken is browned as well. We have tried pizza, freshly cut potato fries, they all turned out delicious. Really in love this oven.

1False Advertising!
By Bigmac
Since we had the other oven from Secura the 997 and liked it we thought we would try this one--since it was the "latest, greatest" from the company. A big mistake! This one comes with more gadgets and about the only advantage to this over the all digital 997 is that it has a turntable to rotate food. Supposedly it can fry foods as well. But that is it...everything else is worse about this than the all digital model that is $30 less. First of all it uses more electricity 1550W vs. 1350 for the halogen cooking oven. It also takes longer to cook than the old oven. Some "genius" in the engineering dept. at Secura decided to make 482 degrees the maximum temp for the oven--I think he is now working on making 61MPH speed limits on some highway or clocks that go up to 11:37PM. Nonetheless, the old unit tops out at a very normal 500 degrees. Additionally, this unit never gets up to the 482 degrees promised. When I used my cooking thermometer it topped out at 350 degrees even though it was supposed to get to 482 degrees--mind you that was after it cooked for 30 mins.Aside from that this sucker is super noisy, much louder than the old unit. It also has a plug that is half the length of the old plug and when you put the lid up it actually locks now and you've to physically unlock to move it again. On the old unit you would simply put the lid up, it would stay in place and you would then put it down. Also, on the old unit it was a nice digital timer and temperature selector...on the new unit it is a cheesy manual timer that dings like a $5 kitchen timer.Don't even think of calling Secura if you've a problem! They're too cheap to have a customer service line so you've to email them for support and if you're lucky enough--about three days later--they will respond to you. Even the NuWave oven has a phone line.In short, this is really disappointing--usually companies improve products not worsen them. If you want a speedy oven the digital 997 will be just fine and come in at $30 less than this overpriced piece of junk!
