Superb workhorses!

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about other people's bad experiences with the Miele W3033 washing machine. My own W3033 has worked without a hint of a problem for almost 3 years. I don't really ever give it's reliability a second thought because my last Miele washing machine was a tireless performer for the 12+ years in my last place. As far as I know, it's still running fine for it's new owners. Similarly my sisters - both with large families have used their machines at least once a day if not more for more than a decade. Those machines weren't the current W3033 model of course but speak to the durability of Miele washing machines. I'm surprised that Miele didn't fix the other reviewer's machines because they are famous for having really excellent customer service and going the extra mile. Perhaps the unhappy owners' machines were fixed and they didn't feel the need to vent any further or give an update. Equally most owners wouldn't think twice about leaving a good review, because they most probably take their washing machine's reliability for granted and expect 20 years service out of them.

Nice Machine

This is a nice machine! For the price, it had better be, right? With great reservation, I purchased this washer to replace a worn-out Maytag unit. With a family of eight in a small space, our washer works for a living.This one has many options and features that I am still trying to figure out. The interior light is very nice. It's solid, nicely sealed, heavy, good door with real stainless. The interior drum honeycomb is very nice and you can see how it is better for clothes. I don't understand half the buttons, yet, since the Maytag was just very simple. It's getting clothes clean, though, which is the whole goal. Clothes come out feeling nicer, smelling like clothes, not soil or soap or bleach or anything but clothes.It's quiet! And, my older Whirlpool dryer is working in much less time now. Maybe it's the pressure of having a shiny new German appliance in the house or, more likely, because the Miele really spins the clothes so dry - really dry. Because we have a 120v dryer, dry time is very important. I am very happy to cut drying time. It saves energy and allows me to do more laundry since I'm not waiting as long for the dryer.Clean clothes. Less overall energy consumption. What a deal. Nice Machine.Beware buying from Evvive as a seller - not helpful, slow delivery, poor communication and my washer had mice in it! The manuel was eaten by mice, the unit had mouse waste all over it. The up side? The mice are very cute and did not seem to damage the unit itself. After a good cleaning, we were able to install it.

Love this washing machine

I guess the recent for the negative reviews for the Miele W3033 washing machine is that everybody else has no trouble and therefore does not leave feedback. I bought this washing machine 6 years ago and have not had any problems. Consequently I bought all Miele appliances for my kitchen and love all of them. The moldy smell that one reviewer refers to occurs when people close the door after washing. All front load washing machines require to leave the door open so the machine can dry out after a wash. This washing machine evene washes my knit dresses that are dry clean only in the hand wash cycle and I have not spent much on a dry cleaner since I have it. This is the best washing machine I have ever used. It is energy efficient and gentle to my clothes but washes them much cleaner than any American brand washing machine I have ever used. Our water heater can run at a much lower temp since it has an integrated heating element and a sud sensor that makes it stop rinsing when the detergent is used up.
