Solid performer so far
By J. Sorce
I've only owned this washer a little more than a month but I am pleased with it. After my old 25 plus year old Whirlpool started acting up I started reading reviews and asking around about new washers. It seems there are many out there that don't live up to expectations. Most of the complaints are about the lack of water and poor washing and rinsing of some new machines. When I saw that this machine had many settings including one for "deep water wash" and an "extra rinse" I figured I could probably find a setting that would work well. I also like the control panel. Settings are clearly marked with large print and the dials have a high quality feel. So far I haven't had to use the deep water wash. It works well for me on the "regular normal" setting. This machine spins dries faster than my old machine (700rpm versus 520rpm for the old one). So clothes are drier at the end of a wash and spend less time in the drier. There are also some wash settings that have a slower spin dry if you prefer. Most washes have taken a little more than an hour including the 8 to 10 minutes of "sensing" at the start of the wash. For a washing machine it seems faily quiet; certainly quieter than my old machine. The one thing I don't care for is that the door locks when it is operating. But many modern machines do this and it can be opened by pressing the button to stop the machine. Like many newer machines it does require "HE" detergent. I've been using Arm and Hammer liquid detergent.

Frugal choice
By Elizabeth
I am really enjoying this machine. Going from a 15 yr old machine(which wasn't cleaning real well in its old age) to this is quite an eye opener. Things have changed!1) Love the quietness of this machine. Early on, I had to go see if it was really running. Yup..it was.2) My big cleaning test was some ground-in dirty, grimy, oily shop socks belonging to hubby. The old machine never got these very clean. In our new Maytag, I used hot water, bleach(as I did with my old machine), the deep wash, heavy duty cycle. Wow..what a difference. These got clean!3) On everyday clothes, with the normal cycle, everything comes out nice and clean. And very much drier, thanks to the strong spin. Saves money on dryer time or makes hanging out much easier....the clothes are not so heavy when hauling them outside.4) This machine seems quite sturdy. I was pleased with this aspect, very much. Reviews had led me to think it would be flimsy. Not so.VERY pleased with this machine. From some reviews I've read online, I expected mediocre performance, but have actually gotten GREAT performance in an affordable, attractive package. Follow the instructions and you'll do fine with this wonderful washer. It does everything it is supposed to.Update: I washed a king size quilt the other day, with a little trepidation. I chose the bulky cycle, and it came our nicely clean, with no fuss. Spun out the water well, so it didn't need much dryer time. I was so impressed, I put in several sofa pillows of various sizes and fabrics(all stuffed) and it did just great with those, as well!

very satisfied

Very quiet, automatically selects water levels, cleans well. Would have given it 5 stars but it arrived with a dent in the back panel.
