Good, basic quiet dryer

Talk about the persistence of advertising, I recalled the old "Maytag man" commercials that caused me to start looking at Maytags... Bought this with a Maytag MVWC300XW washer to replace a 30 year old Whirlpool set, the washer having died inconveniently with a tub full of water.LIKE: Good reviews. It is very quiet, simple to operate, large capacity, lightweight and nicely styled. It is a bit deeper than the unit it replaced, so am researching alternate venting methods to be able to close the doors on the washer/dryer closet.The "cycle finished" buzzer sounds like the dive klaxon from a WWII submarine. If a load wrinkles from siting too long, I can't claim "I didn't hear it" ;) Fortunately, it can be selected ON or OFF... HINT: If you put a dryer load in just before going to bed, suggest you turn the alarm OFF :DDON'T LIKE: The side opening door (can swap from RH to LH opening in about 15 minutes, but I much prefer a bottom hinged door... from what I could find, that option has been discontinued in mid priced lines (too many extra parts?).Compared to the old units, it is nicely finished, but seems pretty flimsy; (thin sheet metal, lotsa plastic used - guess that's one way to reduce weight, but plastic parts have this nasty "Murphy's Law" habit of breaking, usually at the worst time). Having recently bought a 2011 car, light and plastic seem to be the norm...Overall, I like the unit and hope the Maytag Man will continue to be the loneliest guy in the world....EDIT - 2 years of weekly use, still working as it was when purchased... no complaints

Great results

The clothes come out of this dryer perfectly. No wrinkles, nice and soft.In that respect this is the best dryer I have ever used.It doesn't have a drum light, there is no medium temp setting, only high and low, and it's not the quietest running dryer. But it doesn't squeak or rattle, it looks great, easy to use and a nice big drum to properly tumble the clothes.Bottom line is the clothes: they come out looking and feeling fantastic.I'm very happy with this dryer.

This was easy to install. The delivery guy brought it in and put it in place and we (me and my 2 teenage daughters) hooked up the vent. Had it working in under 30 minutes. This dryer is has a huge drum!! The same dryer bought locally would have been literally twice the price. I am so satisfied and recommend this seller. Oh, did I tell you they called and gave me a time they would arrive and then arrived on time!!! Great service.
