I bought mine two years ago from COSTCO and use it all the time. It works fine. It has not rusted or anything.I love it. It does state it needs to be on a stable surface, so If the other comment states he used it on a boat. Thatmay be why it was showing "out of water" and automaticallty shuts off. it may have been off balance and a water indicator was being moved back and forth within the machinery. mine WORKS GREAT and makes different size ice.and makes it fast too.

We received this ice maker prior to going on a week long cottage vacation. We plugged it in at home and made a few throw out batches and then continued to make ice to bring along on the vacation. I works very well. We brought it along to the cottage and didn't have to buy ice all week! We camp a lot and then brought it along for our labor day weekend camp outing and again, didn't have to buy ice all weekend. So far it's working out great! We love it!
