I recently had my washer die on me and had to search for new. I was very confused and torn about all the different options on washers and dryers. I wanted lots and lots of room to do king size bedding, sleeping bags, etc. I thought I was going to have to go with a front load machine, which frankly made me nervous as there are so many mixed reviews about them. When I discovered the huge capacity HE toploaders with no agitator I was initially excited, but then grew wary as I thought, hmmmm my washer has an agitator and uses lots of water and still barely gets my clothes clean. I happen to live in the country and my kids play in the dirty clay mud, the woods, in the donkey pen, goat pen and chicken barn. Also, my husband chainsaw carves (messy messy messy) and he and my son work on our cars. I thought how in the world is a product that uses less water and no agitator to move the clothes around going to clean these messes. But there were things about the top loader that I was really going to miss giving up... my ability to soak my laundry, to be able to stand at the machine with the door open and scrub stains out of the clothes, the fact that the tub doesn't stink and build up mildew and the ability to do tiny loads.I went back and forth and researched and researched. A lady at homedepot was very helpful. After much research I finally came across this washer, it was the ONLY topload washer to score higher than the front loaders in all cleaning tests. I made up my mind and ordered it. I had 24 hrs to try it out and return it and still get the special sales price on the front loaders. I decided to save a huge load of my husbands carving/auto work clothes. They contain dirt, grime, bar oil, sawdust, you name it. It was my first load in my new machine. The sales woman warned me that there was no way to trick an he machine to add more water. Well with this machine YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRICK IT!!!!!! It has a special button on it that when you look through the glass and you don't think that there is enough water, you hit the button and it adds more!!!! You can also hit the button before the load starts and it will put more water in without you checking. When I looked at the work clothes washing, they were completely covered with water and it was a huge load. I put in the entire hamper, and that normally takes two loads with my old machine. Even without the agitator the clothes were rolled around the tub, I watched as sweatshirts that were on top were soon replaced by the jeans at the bottom. I next washed a down alternative mattress pad from twin bed that the old machine couldn't even fit. Everything came out sparkly clean. Load after load I have been HAPPY!!! Some people said that HE/Non agitator washers are bad because they twist stuff up, if you don't put lightweight clothes on the super highspeed spins this doesn't happen. The lady at home depot told me about that and its true. Towels and jeans work great with the high speed, I accidently forgot to lower the speed for light weight sport clothes and accidently set the machine on towels instead of sportswear so it was automatically set to high speed. The clothes came out a bit knotted and I will definitely be a little more careful to double check myself, it would have been a disaster on delicate clothes.Last thing: people don't like LG because of customer service, if you buy through Home Depot and you buy the extended warranty ($140 total for wash and dryer for 3 years) Home Depot does all the servicing from day 1 so you never have to deal with LG. I would recommend this to anybody anywhere, now we can get huge loads, clean clothes and no hassle of the front load. I got this from them on sale for 749 each with a special extra 50 off for buying 2 appliances, and I didn't have to get out of bed at 3am to do it.

We recently bought this LG set(washer and dryer)at Conns. My sister, who already had the set, raved about it.So far it is working fabulous..If you watch it wash a cycle, you will see it washes just as well without the agitator. Honestly, it washes 10 times better than the Kennmore I just retired.I have NOT had any problems with clothes knotting or tying together... my advice would be to make sure you use the correct wash settings when washing to prevent that problem. If you use it right(I read ALL instructions, especially on what the different settings are for)you shouldn't have any problems.

I have no idea what all these reviewers are talking about. Have any of you actually read the owner manual? I've had my LG HE Wave Force washer for a year now and love it. LOVE it. Best washer I have ever had and I've owned plenty.
