Product Description

This food mill is used to strain or puree tomatoes, apples, carrots, potatoes and more By placing cooked fruits or vegetables in the mill and turning the crank, the semi-circular blade oversweeps, compresses and scrapes the food The bar that straddles the container applies constant pressure against the cutting plate and crushes the food, while retaining seeds, skin and fibers This food mill comes with three cutting plates allowing for a variety of textures The interchangeable cutting plates have perforations of 1.5mm, 2.5mm and 4mm (1/16", 3/32" and 5/32"): 1.5 mm (small holes) for fruit sauces and tomato juice 2.5 mm (medium holes) for purees and soups 4.0 mm (large holes) for stringy vegetables, root crops, cooked lettuce, spinach, leeks, etc This food mill output is approximately 3 lbs. per minute and fits on any 7" or larger receptacle Made of Stainless Steel This is the popular LT Moulin No. X3, which comes in a box on whose outside appears the following text: Mill LT No. 3 Traditional mill for preparing purees, stewed fruits, soups, fish soups, cullis. Perfect for those...

Not everyone would have use for this food mill due to today's busy lifestyle, but for those of us who maybe have a tomato garden each year, or who like to make their own soups, and sauces- this mill is invaluable in separating skins and seeds from pulp. Now I'm making delicious, authentic, enchilada sauces using dried peppers, creating the smoothest, seedless tomato sauces, not to mention getting all the goodness out of freshly picked berries to make syrup, jelly's or seedless jams. I'm sure there's a lot more things I can do with it, too.I've used this mill for over a year now and it's raised the bar on the quality of my cooking tremendously. Homemade stuff takes longer but tastes so much better and I find myself using it more and more as time goes by - So if you have the time for homecooking and preserving, I highly recommend this product. It's well made, easy to clean, and does a fantastic job. Maybe it's not the right choice for everyone; after all, not everyone has the time or skill to cook - but it's perfect for those of us who do. It gives awesome results so I give 5 stars.

good grade stainless steel

I RECEIVED THIS ITEM MUCH SOONER THEN EXPECTED.*****THE FIRST THING I DID WAS PUT A MAGNET TO IT. NO ATTRACTION AT ALL, WHICH MEANS THAT IT IS NOT STAINLESS OR A VERY GOOD GRADE OF STAINLESS STEEL. THE WEIGHT TELLS ME THAT IT IS GOOD STAINLESS STEEL AND NOT ALUMINUM.*****I HAVE NOT USED IT YET AND WILL SHARE MY OPINION WHEN I DO.MY EXPERTISE IS THAT I COOK FOR FIREFIGHTERS AND SOME LESS UNFORTUNATE PEOPLE. I ALSO WAS IN THE METAL CUTTING SALES BUSINESS MANY YEARS AGO.DENNIS A.
