Blendtec Beats The Rest
By D. Brown
Blendtec Total Blender, Four-sided- Purchased 2/16/12 from BLENDTEC.com After making a search of several sources from which to purchase this blender, I decided to order from the Blendtec company. For guarantee, warranty purposes, or product questions, I felt more assurred to order from them. Their price wasn't that much different from other sources anyway. My niece and my daughter preceeded me in the purchase of this blender. (We all had watched the FAT, SICK, AND NEARLY DEAD documentary as seen on Netflix.) Now that I have one, I can say with the rest of my family, we are undeniably happy with this great machine. It has not failed to blend anything we've put into it, liquifying almost everything except an occasional frozen banana which apparently goes undercover in the mix. It's operation and clean up is easy which is the KEY factor in our daily use of it in addition to the fact that it will perform per its claims. We have made almond milk, pecan butter, oat flour, ground coffee beans, slushes,& vegetable-fruit smoothies. Although we've not tried to grind up an iPhone, we feel sure it could probably do that as seen on a youTube video. We have had the Magic Bullet, the Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blend & Go, the Juiceman Juicer, the Ninja PrepMaster, and a Kitchen Aid Blender. Of course, these other machines are no where in the catagory of a Blendtec or a Vita Mix blender. As far as I know, if you want to be able to juice your vegetables efficiently with no muss, no fuss, no hassle, no leftover pulp, you will have to pay the price for a BLENDTEC or the VITA MIX. My decision to purchase Blendtec was based on the reviews which found the Blendtec easier to clean than the Vita Mix.Please be aware that any machine like this is Loud. I wear ear plugs when I hit the Whole Juice setting.Hope my review has helped you to make an important decision about your health and your money.

When the pitcher "wears" out every 2 years, you pay another $100+.
By Bri
We've had our blender for nearly 5 years, but won't be patronizing K-TEC anymore. The pitcher has a gear fitting on the bottom that tends to wear out every 2 years. They blamed us the first time because we had put the pitcher in the dish washer a couple of times. Thinking they were an honest business, we coughed up the $100 to have them ship a new pitcher. Around 2 years later, the exact same problem started happening. This time they admitted that their pitchers only last about 2 years with regular use. Here are the symptoms:* Grey powder between the pitcher and the base. That's powder from the metal shaft in the pitcher grinding up.* Sharp grinding noise at the beginning right before the blades really spin.Eventually the shaft fitting wears down completely and won't work anymore, requiring you to spend another $100 or more (as prices rise) every other year for a new pitcher.Personally, I find this to be a total rip-off when old blenders that cost a fraction of the price and made in the late 70's are still able to work (albeit without the same amount of torque) for 30 years and this one can't even last 3!Stay away from K-Tec and tell your friends to look for alternatives.

awesome, love it!
By Happy Girl
This thing is great! I previously had a typical kitchen blender, but had the priviledge of using a friend's Vita-mix for a few weeks...I thought it would be exactly the same, but it isn't...in a good way. There is a slight learning curve, but not much. The good differences are: ease of cleaning, for sure! Size! Also, it has pre-programmed cycles, AS WELL AS a pulse up and pulse down button so that one can manually blend. The only thing I have not figured out is why it tells me digitally how many cycles it has run? Anyone know offhand?I highly recommend this! Loving the fresh veggie smoothies that are SOOOO SMOOTH.
