Aprilaire / Space-Gard #501 High Efficiency Filtering Media (10-Pack) These are the original, OEM expandable "accordian" style, factory recommended replacement filters for the Aprilaire/Space-Gard Model 5000 Air Cleaner. MERV 10 rated. The filters ship like a collapsed accordian and are expanded into a plastic frame within the air cleaner cabinet. The filter is snapped into the plastic frame and held in place with existing pleat spacers. Assembly instructions are printed on the product carton. The air cleaner media in the Model 5000 can last from 6 months up to 2 years. If installed on a 5-ton system, in the presence of high concentration of particulate, or if the furnace fan is on continuously, it may be necessary to change the media more frequently. In any application, the life of the media is dependant upon the total volume of air being moved through it as well as the amount of particulate it is filtering. Aprilaire whole house air cleaners are the best
By Clean and Healthy Aire!
I replaced my furnace in 2006 and added a whole house electronic/media air filter that attaches to the furnace itself. Aprilaire is the brand name. I am so impressed. My family has allergies, and we all have trouble with the dust in the air. From the very first night of this being installed - we can tell the difference. No more waking up in the morning stuffed up. I have minimal dust in my house, my daughter in law who has horrible trouble with cigarette smoke thought we had quite smoking because the smell is no longer in the house. Although it was spendy ($900.00 in 2006) it is well worth it. The replacement filters I have been purchasing from the dealer I bought the furnace from - $85.00 each then I found this website - $37.00 - WOW! and no shipping costs. I would recommend an Aprilaire whole house cleaner for anyone thinking about purchasing one of these.
