Product Description

Owners of a TrojanUVMaxTM can drink with confidence knowing 99.99-Percent of illness-causing microorganisms, including E. coli, Cryptosporidium and Giardia are destroyed, supplying safe water to every tap. UV water purification is a natural process that adds no chemicals and does not affect the taste or odor of water. Other methods, such as those that use chlorine, may create harmful chemicals that have been linked with serious illnesses, such as cancer. Maintenance is simple and can be completed in minutes - without tools. It's as easy as replacing the UV lamp once a year and periodically cleaning the sleeve.

5Excellent Performance - First Time Using UV
By MDHZ
After a simple bacteria test on my well water came back positive for microbes, I decided to get a whole house water purification system. I already have a water softener system and two filter pods. This is important because the system REQUIRES that you have a <5 micron filter. So one filter is a pre-filter (sediment filter) - and the next is the required <5 micron filter. The system requires that you have plumber install it. Even as a handy DYI-er, I wouldn't try installing it alone. My friend who is a plumber finished the job in about 2 hours with minimal fuss.I retested the water using the same bacteria test, and now its completely clear. There is a bulb life of 1 year - and the display counts down the days until you need to replace the bulb. Its a simple, yet elegant system.I got this system from "Serv-A-Pure" (through Amazon) - it came quickly with no hassles.

4UV Max
By Sixstring
This unit seems to be well designed and works well. I do like the features and the countdown clock for the lamp. It would be nice if the sampling unit (which is the plus model) could be added later, but it seems the control unit can't be expanded for this. I do wish Trojan would supply parts for their units after they are not in production. I had an older Trojan UV unit, the aqua advantage 12 which needed a new ballast power supply, and it seems no one carries replacement parts for it including Trojan. I hope for the newer UVmax equipment, they continue to offer parts longer than the old units. Given these things are not cheap, and require a fair amount of work to install, one would think offering spare parts would be a given. Also, from the old to the new unit, the water now enters the bottom instead of going in the side, and the lamp is installed in the top of the chamber and not the bottom. There are probably good technical reasons for these changes, but unfortunately, I had to completely redo the piping to accommodate the new layout. Bottom line is this unit works well and I would buy it again, I just have a few reservations about long term support.
