4Does the job but with the usual Saeco quirks
By John
This is my third Saeco model. No. 2 (Talea Ring Plus) is still running fine and has been passed on to family. I bought this unit because of the integrated cappuccino capability--much cheaper than other units that have this feature. It makes a decent cappuccino; better than I could usually do by hand. It also makes good coffee. There are probably better models out there but you can usually get a good deal on Saeco and there is a local repair shop in our area so I have been sticking with the brand in spite of some flukes. Having used this model for a few months here is my advice...1) Do NOT store the milk container with milk in it for more than a day and wash it as often as you can. Particularly you need to flush out the hose that connects to the machine because it has a tiny pin hole at the end that dried/coagulated milk can easily plug up. I am lucky that the hose fits inside my filtered water faucet and I can use that to force water through it when done. Milk is notoriously hard to clean so I would also recommend purchasing a milk cleaning product. As usual Saeco advertises their brand which is hard to find in the US--just search Amazon for other options.2) This particular Saeco has fewer sensors than before so it will merrily make a cup of coffee even though it doesn't have a full grind. This is an issue because they now have this plastic shield over the grinder, with small holes to let the beans flow to the grinder, except of course they often don't. Particularly with the oily dark roast coffees that we favor in the US I had to push the beans at the grinder with my finger (fortunately this unit also is also missing the sensor that doesn't allow you to open the bean hopper during grinding). After consultation with support I removed this shield and it works much better. Just undo the screw in the center, remove the piece of plastic and replace the screw/bushing.3) Support is your friend. This is a European company so they still generally treat customers in a civilized manner. Often you will get pretty good advice and they're even ready to make things right if the unit is reasonably close to being under warranty.

5straight from the Jetsons - I LOVE IT
By a.
For those of us who grew up on the Jetsons, like me, this is a dream come true: you throw a handful of coffee beans into the top, press a button, and voila' - the perfect cup of espresso or cappuccino! The machine does everything- it grinds the beans with a pure ceramic grinder, measures the right amount of grounds, tamps them, extracts the flavor at a professional pressure, and froths the milk if required. Now, if it could also be programmed to brush the kids' teeth....Seriously, you get the quality of a barista's espresso machine and the convenience of a capsule machine, rolled into one.Once you adjust the settings according to your preferences from the LCD screen, then the machine does all the work!Last, but not least, it will look chic and minimalistic in your kitchen (or bedroom, if you just can't wait for your morning cup!!!), and you'll wake up thinking you are in Italy.

5Extremely Satisfied
By NBaker
I had been on the market for a super automatic espresso for about five years. My work has a Bosch version so I was somewhat familiar with the coffee type and performance of superautomatics. What finally made me pull the trigger on this unit was the auto milk steamer. I knew I did not have he patience to steam up milk myself. With this unit my expectation have been well exceeded. The press of one button and I can have a coffee, espresso, or cappuccino. Clean up is easy and quick. To me it is not an issue, but the bean storage and water tank are a little small. I think I average about 3-4 cups before I get the low water warning. This makes an espresso type coffee with steam so the coffee is rich and robust. If you prefer the weaker drip type coffee avoid this type of coffee maker. The ultimate endorsement I can give this coffee maker is that my technologically challenged wife learned this unit on her own and has completely and fully adopted this unit over our old traditional unit. After all the wait this unit is well worth it.
