This is used for making idli batter, dosa batter, adai batter, pesarattu batter etc. You basically soak rice/beans/lentil in right proportions overnight and grind with water in this. The motor is very powerful and you let the grains grind with occasional mix-ins for 30-45 minutes. Once they are really made into a semi flowing batter, you have to ferment. In hot climates, you can keep batter outside for 12-18 hours when they will rise majestically. Otherwise keep inside an oven with oven light turned on.The idli/dosa etc will come in a splendid fashion. Just search on youtube how to make idli/dosa/adai etc.
