The Allavino MWR-542-BR-C 51 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cellar is an excellent choice for anyone needing a little versatility in their wine storage. It's two independently controlled temperature zones effectively store white wine, red wine or both! This front-venting unit is perfect for recessing into kitchen and bar counters. It is also makes a handsome space-saver as a freestanding unit in offices and apartments. Upper Zone: 41-50F; Lower Zone: 45-64F. Set storage and service temperatures for both red and white wine. Use the Upper Zone for white service and the Lower Zone for red and white storage, or use both zones to store reds and whites. "Red", "White," and "Sparkling" indicator lights allow you to monitor temperatures at a glance. 5 shelves glide smoothly on ball-bearing tracks for easy access. Smartly spaced to fit 51 bottles of Bordeaux (regular) size bottles. The shelves are easily removable to accommodate larger bottles, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Champagne. To keep your wine safe, the tinted glass provides UV-protection from harmful light and the built-in key lock provides security. The sleek black finish looks great in any area of the home or office. Very Good, not Excellent

I purchased my Allavino dual zone wine fridge about 7 or 8 weeks ago. I looked at quite a few and this one seemed to meet most of my requirements. It arrived by trucker about 10 days later. While the outside of the packaging looked fine, it was badly damaged on the inside. I immediately contacted Amazon, who in turn contacted the Beverage Factory (BV). After I forwarded a few pictures of the damage, I must say that BV was courteous, helpful and said they would ship a replacement unit right away. Right away took longer than expected (about 2 weeks) and I had to take another day off to wait for the truck (too big and heavy for standard carriers). This one was fine and thus far is working properly. Pros - simple, clean design and maintains temperatures well in both zones. Cons - a little noisy and the bottom shelf is junky. Other shelves have nice glides, but the bottom shelf just lies there and does not pull out well, at all. Overall I am satisfied with the unit and the Beverage Factory. A few minor changes and it would be "excellent".

Nice unit, but...

The temp fluctuations seem pretty wide, and if you don't have this in a closet or something, it is loud when the fan runs! The quality of the unit itself is very nice.
