Nice smaller size
By AKN
I've been into juicing for years. Every day I drink a glass, or two, of fresh juice, and have several juicing recipe books. I have always used my old indestructable Juiceman Jr. but wanted something new, easier to clean, and smaller that I could leave on the counter. This is small enough when turned sideways to leave on the counter and it doesn't take up as much space as my old juicer. It also is more efficient, producing more juice, and more and drier pulp. What I love is the extra large feed spout, which means less slicing up fruit and vegitables before putting them into this. You can spend a lot more than this on juicers, over twice as much, but the end result is the same. This gets plenty of juice out, and it's easy to clean, which is an important consideration, as some juicers can be difficult. The pulp catcher snaps out easily, and rinses out cleanly. While this is dishwasher safe, I find I don't even need to put it in the dishwasher usually, since I just rince off the pulp catcher and blade and easily reassemble it in a couple of minutes. This has two speeds but I always use the high speed. It's a super powerful machine, 900 watts, and juicing just takes a few seconds with this, unlike my old machine which was more like a wood chipper grinding away. This does it's job almost instantly. They've come a long way in juicing technology apparently. And this looks really nice too.Do I recommend this juicer? You bet I do! You can spend a lot more, but why would you when you can get such a compact, attractive, easy to clean little powerhouse like this. And I like the brand Krups, which is known for high quality.

Semi-pro Juicer that is out-designed by Breville
By W. Munro
Overall, this juicer will meet semi-pro juicing needs. It is an investment in time, as any juicer of this caliber. Cleanup takes exponentially longer than the actual juicing process. You have 6-7 parts to remove and wash. One recommendation to save time on clean-up is to use a plastic bag around chute where the discarded vegetable mush goes (instead of using the plastic receptacle) that you can toss instead of wash.Let's talk counter space. We have none, so our juicer lives on a high shelf that makes it a bear to get down to use. For regular use, you definitely want countertop with easy access to the sink. If you plan to use this at least 3 times a week, it deserves a spot on the counter - see dimensions comparison below.Comparison to Breville BJE510XL Juice Extractor which is in a similar class and currently about $50 more on Amazon new or $20 less remanufactured:Both have good power and ability to pulverize hard and soft vegetables/fruit.Both have similar number of parts to clean and reassemble each time.Speed options. Krups has High and Low. Breville has multiple and allows you to adjust for soft to hard fruit/veg.Assembly/disassembly . The Breville picks its parts break points more thoughtfully. For the Breville, the juice collector (round thing with spout which holds the filter basket with the sharp blade) is separated cleanly and easily from the drive shaft which reduces the risk of you accidently cutting your finger on the blade trying to wiggle it out. For the Krups, the spout of the juice collector is inserted through a hole in the base which requires more wiggle to disassemble (see parts photo).Clean-up. Both are a pain as expected. However, my recommendation for using a plastic bag around the discard chute is MUCH easier on the Breville as the chute is a continuous circle - easy to put a bag around. The Krups has a chute that is a half circle with one wall missing (where the discarded veg comes through) and would likely not all make it into the plastic bag.Dimensions. Pick your key dimension - width (Breville wins) or depth (Krups wins). Krups 9"W x 10"D x 15"H and Breville 7"W x 12"D x 15"HOverall, thoughtful design matters to me. Breville wins for making some subtle choices that make clean-up (using a bag to collect waste) and assembly/disassembly nominally easier. Plus I like the stainless steel aesthetic compared to the shiny chrome look.

I'm New to Juicing
By AuburnTygr
I am an inexperienced juicer so I do not have anything to compare this juicer to function or price-wise. I can tell you that my daughter and I just made the best orange juice we have ever tasted and I'm looking forward to our next attempt with apples. This juicer is relatively easy to set up but takes up a good bit of space on the counter. I have limited counter space so this could pose a storage problem for anyone who has a small kitchen or limited storage space. There are a good many parts to clean after juicing. I have an apartment sized dishwasher and these parts take up the entire top rack. I prefer to just clean everything the old fashioned way. What I like:Speed-It takes just a matter of seconds after dropping fruit into the machine to have fresh, ready to drink juice.Whole pieces of fruit fit into the feeding tube so no cutting, coring or slicing required.Quiet-Relatively no noise for such a powerful motor. (My hand held mixer makes more noise.)Pulp is very dry after juicing so there is very little waste of fruits and vegetables.Fresh fruit and vegetable juice tastes so much better than store bought. This is the first time my daughter tasted fresh squeezed orange juice and she was amazed at the difference. If looks are important, this juicer is very attractive and looks great in my black & stainless kitchen.Other than the large size, I haven't found anything I don't like about this juicer. I'm now scouring the web for recipes for my favourite vegetable juice, V-8.
